Classes & Packages

Fearless Movement isn't built around one type of exercise, because I don't think most people need to be squeezed into a single fitness box.

Some people love Pilates, some want to get stronger, some need more individual support, and plenty are just curious about breathwork. A lot of people aren't sure what they need yet, they just know they want to feel better in their body and stop constantly starting again.

That's why the services here are designed to overlap rather than compete with each other. You might come for Pilates and movement because you want more mobility and confidence moving, or choose Personal Training Circles because you want structured strength coaching with genuine individual attention, whether that's once a week or twice. Breathwork might be what draws you in first.

Browse my class options below, and if you aren't sure which one is right for you, that's okay too, just get in touch and we'll work it out together.

Small Group MAT Pilates & Movement CLASSES

MONDAY 9:15AM
WEDNESDAY 9:15AM
FRIDAY 6:30AM & 9:15AM
45 MINUTES

My small group mat Pilates and movement classes aren't about staying inside the boundaries of what someone on the internet has decided counts as "proper Pilates." I do teach traditional Pilates exercises, some of them are excellent, some of them are also quite odd. Depending on what we're working on, I'll also pull from mobility, strength training and general movement. My priority is helping you become stronger, more mobile and more confident in your body, not protecting the purity of a particular exercise method.

Classes are intentionally small, which gives me room to actually notice the people in front of me. I can give different options, adjust movements and help you find the right level of challenge, so you're not left trying to keep up or wondering if you're doing it "wrong." I want you to feel coached and supported as an individual, without feeling judged against everyone else in the room.

There's also very little expectation that you need to perform movements perfectly. Technique matters, of course, I'll coach you to move efficiently and use an appropriate level of challenge. But I'm not going to make you believe that one slightly misplaced foot means your body is about to fall apart. I want people to become more confident moving, not more frightened of moving without professional supervision.

Who are the Small Group Mat Pilates & Movement classes for?

Pretty much anyone who wants to move. You don't need to be flexible, coordinated, or have previous Pilates experience, and you don't even need to identify as a "Pilates person."

Some people come for mobility, some for the strength and control, and some simply prefer smaller classes and a calmer environment. Some want an option that complements their other training. You may be very active already, or coming back to exercise after a long break, both are fine.

You'll be encouraged to challenge yourself when it makes sense, but there's no prize for choosing the hardest variation and no shame in taking the option that works better for you. Expect movement, learning, probably some laughing, and the occasional moment where either you or I forget which side we've already done.

PERSONAL TRAINING CIRCLES

Personal Training Circles are Fearless Movement's semi-private personal training option, bringing together the individual programming and focused coaching of personal training with something 1:1 sessions can't always give you, a few familiar faces beside you who notice your progress, celebrate your wins, and keep the banter going between hard sets.

Each Circle is capped at four people, and that's deliberate. This isn't a group workout where everyone follows the same program, you each have your own, built around your goals, experience, needs and current capacity, and it progresses with you over time. So while you might be training in the same room, one person could be working towards a strength goal, another building confidence with resistance training, and someone else rebuilding capacity after time away.

Your program. Your coach. Your Circle.

What makes a personal training circle different from a class?

In a group class, I start with the session I've planned and adapt it to suit the people in front of me. Personal Training Circles work the other way around, I start with you. What are you working towards, what does your program say, how have you been progressing, how are you feeling today, does something need adjusting? Then four people happen to train alongside one another.

That distinction matters, because I don't want semi-private personal training to become another name for a circuit class. Capping Circles at four means I can still actually coach, watching what you're doing, helping you choose an appropriate load, answering questions, progressing your program and noticing when something needs to change, rather than trying to keep track of a room full of people. You still get the social side of training with other humans, without disappearing into a crowd.

More than somewhere to exercise once or twice a week

The bigger goal of the Circles isn't simply to give you a workout. I want to help you move from knowing you should exercise but struggling to make it work consistently, towards knowing how to train and look after yourself in a way that works with your body, your goals and your actual life.

That means your training needs to change with you. Sometimes we'll progress the weight or work towards a bigger strength or fitness goal, sometimes we'll build confidence with movements that are new to you, and sometimes your capacity will be lower and we'll adjust accordingly. Other times I'll tell you that you're absolutely capable of more and it's time to pick up the heavier weight. The goal is progression without rigidity.

A consistent Circle, not random drop-ins

You'll train at a regular time with the same small Circle, rather than booking into a different group each week. That gives you consistency in your training, and it gives you familiar faces too, people who notice when you've progressed something you've been working on, and who bring a bit of social accountability, encouragement and, knowing me, a reasonable amount of laughing.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Because your Circle training is built around you, we start with a little more than simply booking into a class.

First, you'll book a short Circle Consult and answer a few questions about your health, training history and what you'd like to work towards. We'll use the consult to talk through your goals, make sure a Circle is the right fit and decide what we need from your initial assessment.

From there, we'll complete your assessment and goal setting, I'll build your individual program, and we'll get you started in your regular Circle.

Circle memberships begin with a 12-week commitment. This isn't a get-fit-quick challenge — it's a meaningful block of time to train consistently, build strength and capacity gradually, see how you're responding and adjust your program as we go. After the first 12 weeks, your membership simply continues week to week with 7 days' notice to cancel.

Okay, I'm interested. HOW DO I JOIN?

There are two ways to train in your Circle, once a week or twice, depending on how much support and consistency you're after. Both include your initial assessment and goal setting, individual programming, ongoing adjustments, check-ins, health & fitness coaching and program reviews, with the exact level of support depending on which option you choose. Your Circle membership also includes Fearless Movement's Pilates & Movement classes alongside your individual strength program.

Fearless Movement Oak Flats founder Melinda Sullivan in childs pose position for breathwork and reset session

Breathwork & Reset Sessions

Breathwork is a slightly different arm of Fearless Movement. These sessions aren't exercise classes, although breath and physiology obviously overlap with movement, performance, stress and the nervous system in plenty of interesting ways. Some sessions are slower and more settling, others deliberately shift your level of activation, and some are simply about becoming more aware of how breathing affects the way you feel.

I'm drawn to breathwork because I've experienced its usefulness personally, particularly after burnout, and because it's something we can intentionally influence. Your breathing changes with stress, exercise, emotion and concentration, and breathwork gives us a way to explore some of that deliberately.

What are Reset Sessions?

Reset Sessions are longer form breathwork experiences or workshops, where we have more time to actually explore breathing rather than tacking five minutes onto the end of another class. They may be held at the Oak Flats studio or as occasional pop up sessions around the Illawarra, and the exact style can vary from session to session.

My approach is evidence informed and practical, but I'm also completely comfortable acknowledging that breathwork can be very experiential, not everything useful needs to be reduced to a spreadsheet. At the same time, I'm not interested in making wild claims about what breathing can cure, detox or magically release from your body.

COMING SOON: Coaching & Online Programs

Because knowing what to do is often not the hard part.

Over time, Fearless Movement will also include coaching around the stuff that sits outside the workout itself. Consistency, habits, overwhelm, all or nothing thinking, and the endless cycle of deciding that this Monday you're finally going to become someone who meal preps, exercises five days a week and has her life completely together. Then Thursday happens.

The online side of Fearless Movement will be built around helping women create realistic health and movement habits that can survive actual life, rather than requiring perfect motivation and circumstances. It's not the main focus of the studio right now, but it's coming.
